Who are you, and what do you do in your “day job”?

President, Carswell Partners Inc.

How did you first hear about DisruptHR?

A partner in Ottawa, Richard Eaton, told me about Disrupt and I fell in love with the idea!

Why did you decide to raise your hand and become an organizer for DisruptHR events in London (ON)?

I am provocative by nature. I love pushing people’s thinking to new levels.

Disrupt was aligned with my thinking – it was a no-brainer.

How many events have you organized?

Completed first DisruptHR this past September with about 170 people

What types of people/industries have attended your events?

All types – very eclectic mix of people – even HR students!

What are you most proud of that has come out of being involved with/organizing DisruptHR events?

I’m proud that people are thinking differently about “HR” in their companies.

 What kind of feedback have you received from those who attended prior DisruptHR London (ON) events?

My favourite ” Best HR event I have been to EVER” – nothing compares to that statement!

What is your favorite DisruptHR Talk, and why?

That’s not a fair question – love them all!

Based off of the Talks and conversations at your events, what do you feel are the areas with the biggest opportunity for disruption?

How to get people into organisations and how to get them to stay!

What excites you or frustrates you about the future of work, your career and/or DisruptHR?

People who are blissfully unaware of the impending demographic crunch. Employees will have the power and old approaches will not work. Period.
