Who are you, and what do you do in your ‰day job‰?

My name is Matthew Harris, I am the Co-Founder and CTO of a company called Patheer. We provide a SaaS platform for companies to showcase their jobs and projects internally to their employees. We help companies with their internal mobility strategy.

How did you first hear about DisruptHR?

I started thinking about bringing the HR community together in Boston and started researching how I could do that. I came across DisruptHR and realized that it’d be a great start to have a fun networking event, along with great thought-leadership presentations.

Why did you decide to raise your hand and become an organizer for DisruptHR events in Boston?

I wanted to take action to bring the HR community together…startups, thought leaders, HR business practitioners, HR execs, recruiters and many others in Boston.

How many events have you organized?

We have organized two events so far, with a third in planning. We are having between 250-350 people at our events.

What types of people/industries have attended your events?

We have many types of people attend our events like HR practitioners, HR executives, HR vendors, and startups.

What are you most proud of that has come out of being involved with/organizing DisruptHR events?

We are most proud of having people from over 160 different companies attend our events.

What kind of feedback have you received from those who attended prior DisruptHR Boston events?

People enjoy the good networking, good food, and awesome speakers, but mainly they love the energy that the events bring.

What is your favorite DisruptHR Talk, and why?

Love the One Your With by Ed Nathanson  – His presentation was fun and engaging. He’s a great speaker! Additionally, he talks about what problem my company, Patheer sets out to solve and help companies with.

Based off of the Talks and conversations at your events, what do you feel are the areas with the biggest opportunity for disruption?

The Future of Work – what a company will look like in the next few years. How people will be working.

What excites you or frustrates you about the future of work, your career and/or DisruptHR?

How slow HR can move! I am confident though that HR can become one of the most innovative parts of a company. It will be needed for company survival.
