Meet The Disruptors: Laura Rennie of DisruptHR Glasgow

Who are the people that are taking the lead in disrupting the future of work?

They’re the official Disruptors (Organizers) of DisruptHR events held in cities around the world. Each week, we’ll introduce you to one of these intelligent, inspiring, and beautiful people (okay, pick two) who have stepped up, and volunteered to organize a Disrupt HR event in their city.

Because Scotland was in real need of some disruptive events!!

How many events have you organized?

I have organised one so far, it was very well attended around 60 people in the audience with many more watching online. The first event took place in October last year in Glasgow.

What types of people/industries have attended your events?

What are you most proud of that has come out of being involved with/organizing DisruptHR events?

The sheer number of people who attended the first event, the noise that was made afterwards and the cry for another event.

What kind of feedback have you received from those who attended prior DisruptHR Glasgow events?

There was an absolute BUZZ when Perry Timms launched his book at my event!

What is your favorite DisruptHR Talk, and why?

I just love everything that Perry Timms does so anything that has his name on it.

Based off of the Talks and conversations at your events, what do you feel are the areas with the biggest opportunity for disruption?

Talent acquisition – we had a few recruiters/searchologists who are completely breaking the norm.

What excites you or frustrates you about the future of work, your career and/or DisruptHR?

I hate when HR people talk about ‘how we show our value’ it drives me crazy. You don’t hear Finance people doing that! Come on HR lets get more disruptive!!
