The Harvard Business Review recently published “The New Rules of Competition”. But we live in a market economy, and we compete every day of the week. What’s new? Disruption has been going on for a long time.
What does disruption actually mean? It’s the new rules of engagement. Disruption is not so much about what we know today, but what we don’t know about tomorrow that we really need to think about.
We must be thinking about threats in terms of competition and technology, but we also need to think about the opportunities that those threats may provide for us as an organization.
We need to act strategically. We need to be alert and thinking of what the future may hold/the impact it may have on our organization. We have to avoid complacency, and educate people within our organization that change is the new normal.
HR’s Challenge: Identify the talent. Engage the talent. Look into the future and think of the impact for that talent. Always act strategically. Manage the human impact of disruption.
